In the short story "Do Seek Their Meat From God" by Charles Roberts, the theme is about the concept of karma. Karma is essentially where you get "paid back" what you deserve. If you are constantly doing bad things to people or in general, then bad things will happen to you and vice versa. In the short story, the settler decides to go help a little boy crying out of the goodness of his heart even though he already had a rough day and it could possibly be dangerous. As a result, he saved his own little boy from 2 panthers that were going to eat his child. In conclusion, the works of karma are definitely shown in this short story.
